Te Whau Lodge wins prestigious award

Te Whau Lodge | Trip Advisor Award

Some great news to come out of the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown in Auckland for the team at Te Whau Lodge. When Covid-19 forced the accommodation industry in NZ to summarily close, Te Whau Lodge was awarded Trip Advisor’s 2020 prestigious Travellers’ Choice for “Best of Best” Luxury Hotel in the South Pacific region.

Te Whau Lodge is a boutique luxury accommodation provider on Waiheke Island, just 35 mins ferry ride from mainland Auckland. Waiheke Island is a stunning natural beauty, offering numerous world class vineyards, restaurants and swimming beaches. Te Whau Luxury Lodge has, what the locals state are, “quite simply the best panoramic views on the Island.”

Te Whau Luxury Lodge sits on the ridge line at one of the highest points on the Island, and offers 270 degree, breath-taking, ocean views. Guests have often referred to these views as the “Santorini of the South”….simply stunning!  However, that is not solely why Te Whau won the “Best of Best” Luxury Small Hotel award, their ‘overnight success’ has been four (4) dedicated years in the making.

When the current owners took over Te Whau Lodge, they aspired to create an accommodation experience for their guests that would be unforgettable.  They, along with their dedicated staff, set about refurnishing the property, and raising the standard for the guest experience, so it would become Best in Class. The team at Te Whau Luxury Lodge wanted to ensure they were offering a true luxury accommodation, with a focus on exceptional service that was affordable.

Nothing worthwhile happens overnight, and the commitment to offering guests the most magical experience continues. The team at Te Whau Lodge are proud to say their focused hard work has resulted in this marvellous recognition of that commitment.

Recently, Te Whau has expanded the team to include Chris and Teara Walker as our new Managers. Both Chris and Teara, have many years of experience in the industry.  Teara is a classically trained Chef.  She has brought her cuisine to Te Whau, so dining in at the lodge now is possible with nightly “Chef’s Table” four course dining.
