Comments about our past trips to France

"We had a fabulous time in St Didier and the Vaucluse. Gene, your skill in the kitchen and your knowledge of the region, its wine and produce along with Liz's language and exceptional navigation skills made for a relaxing, fun and very memorable experience. Good luck with your future trips to France."

"Richard and I had such a lovely, lovely week with you both. Thank you so much for all your care. It was such a relaxing yet stimulating week and really surpassed our expectations. You did a splendid job selecting that part of the world as there is so much variety. We definitely want to revisit and explore it more."

"Thoughts of France, of Marseillan, of Noilly Prat (Tom is loving the rouge in his Manhattans) of dining al fresco and so much more makes me smile and remain grateful for the opportunity - Thank You!!!"

"Just a note to say thank you very much for a most delightful week's holiday with you in Marseillan. I was so impressed with the relaxed way in which you looked after us all and how every day unfolded in such an easy and pleasant manner. You really do have a talent for making your guests happy and comfortable. Highlights? Lots of them. I loved it all. Maybe the last night's dinner. Have been singing your praises ever since returning home."

"As fascinating as Paris can be, in my opinion, Marseillan was the highlight of our vacation. Thank you for all the planning you put in to the week, even though we were on the go every day, it didn’t seem as tiring as our time on our own in Paris. It's good we didn't go to Paris first because if we had ended our trip in Marseillan, I may not have wanted to come home!"

"We've been going through some photographs of our trip to France with you. Marseillan, what a find! Sitting down at the wee port eating fresh oysters - looking at the canal boats coming in from the Etang de Thau - listening to jazz one evening - Gypsy festival of fire on another - shopping the market for the next meal - Quelle experience! And that was just one small village in a part France we think highly under-rated. The Languedoc has so much to offer - from the medieval town of Carcassonne to the hills in the north (Aniane) to excellent wine and food everywhere. Thanks to your knowledge and having our own interpreter (thanks Liz) I think we could not have done better. It was a rich and deeply satisfying experience. Thank you both so much."

“The trip to Provence with Liz and Gene was beyond our expectations. They were wonderful hosts and allowed us to get far more out of our trip than we could possibly have done, had we done it alone. The accommodation and food not to mention the wine was superb The fact that our hosts knew the area well meant that we did a number of things that we would probably have missed were it not for them. We made some great new friends and have memories that will last a lifetime. Highly recommended, a great way to see the highlights of Provence without the stress of doing it all yourself and well worth every penny. We would love to do it all over again. (PS They did and joined us in Marseillan in 2011!)

“Thank you once again for the delightful introduction to the French countryside. Because of your loving care and attention, I fell in love with Provence - definitely the highlight of our trip. I will return at some stage and see more. It was lovely to be in such beautiful countryside and away from the crowded cities. I think of us when I am out on my early morning walks and remember our walks in St Didier before breakfast and being touched by that lovely early morning sun and air.”
